Talking Pet guides and answers
Short answers to what people ask about making a pet talk or sing from a photo, each with the steps and the maker on the same page.
How to make your dog or cat talk from a photo
Upload one clear photo of your dog or cat, then give it a voice: type the words and pick a pet voice, record yourself, upload an audio file, or pick one of 26 short songs. The AI moves your pet's real mouth in time with the voice, and a few minutes later you download an MP4 of up to 30 seconds. It runs in the browser, so there's no app to install, and you pay $4.99 for that one video instead of a subscription.
How to make your dog sing Happy Birthday
Upload a clear photo of your dog, choose the Happy Birthday song in the voice step, and the AI makes your dog sing it: its mouth opens and closes with every line ("Happy birthday, dear human"), for about 15 seconds. Download the MP4 and send it to the birthday person. One video costs $4.99, with no subscription. Cats work the same way.
How to make your cat talk (talking cat video from a photo)
Upload a clear photo of your cat, type what it should say and pick the Sassy cat voice (or record your own), and the AI moves your cat's mouth in time with the words. You get an MP4 of up to 30 seconds a few minutes later, in the browser with no app, for $4.99 a video.
Is there a free talking pet app?
There are free options, but each has a catch: ChatterPix is free but you draw the mouth yourself and it only flaps open and shut, and the pet-video sites that start free (TalkingPets.ai, singing.pet, checked 2026-11-06) put a watermark on the free video and then sell a weekly plan. Talking Pet App has no free tier: one video is $4.99, no watermark, no subscription.
Best talking pet apps compared
If you'll make lots of videos this week, a weekly plan (TalkingPets.ai, $4.99 a week) works out cheapest per video. If you want one video, say for a birthday, without a subscription to remember to cancel, Talking Pet App charges $4.99 once. To try before paying, TalkingPets.ai and singing.pet give a free watermarked video.
Can ChatGPT make my dog talk in a video?
Sort of. When we asked on 2026-11-06, ChatGPT said yes, and given a dog photo it made a short MP4 by writing Python: a dark oval painted over the dog's muzzle that pulses with the syllables, a robotic text-to-speech voice (espeak), and the photo resized to a tall 540×960 frame. The dog's own mouth and jaw don't move. Talking Pet App uses an AI lip-sync video model instead, so your pet's real mouth opens and closes with the voice, for $4.99 a video.
Make your pet talk in your own voice
Yes. In the voice step, record yourself in the browser or upload an audio or video file, and the AI moves your pet's mouth to your words. Up to 30 seconds are used. Your voice isn't cloned: the pet speaks with exactly the recording you give it, and the recording is deleted within 30 days.
Which pet photos work for a talking pet video?
One sharp photo of one dog or cat, face toward the camera, mouth not covered, close enough that the face is a good part of the picture. Photos of your own pets only (dog, cat, rabbit, bird, hamster and more): one pet, or two or more side by side. No people in the photo: no selfies, no friends, no children, no public figures.
Talking pet video not working? Fixes
Failed videos give their credits back automatically, so you can try again with a sharper, closer photo. A video that comes out clearly broken gets its cost back. Your videos stay in My videos: on the browser you made them in, or in your account if you signed in.
How to make your dog or cat sing a song
Upload a clear photo of your dog or cat, choose Song in the voice step and pick one of 26 songs (Happy Birthday, Christmas, Thanksgiving, I love you, get well soon, Mother's Day and more) as the chorus (up to 15 seconds) or the whole song (up to 30), and the AI moves your pet's mouth with the singing. To use a song of your own, record yourself singing or upload an audio file. One video is $4.99, no subscription.
Animal talking app: make a rabbit, bird or any pet talk
Yes. Upload one sharp photo of your pet, whatever it is: a dog, cat, rabbit, budgie, parrot, hamster or guinea pig. Make your dog or cat say Merry Christmas
Upload a photo of your pet (a Santa hat helps), then pick the "A Merry Woof Christmas" song in the voice step, or type your own Christmas message and choose a pet voice. The AI makes your pet sing or say it, mouth moving with the words, and you get an MP4 in a few minutes to send in a family chat or post. One video is $4.99.
Make a memorial video of a pet that passed away
Yes. Upload a favorite photo, then either pick the gentle song "I'm Still With You" in the voice step or type a few words from your pet and choose the Sweet and soft voice. The AI moves your pet's mouth with the words, and you get an MP4 to keep or share with family. You hear the voice before anything is made, and one video is $4.99.
Make your dog or cat say Happy Thanksgiving

Make your cat sing Happy Birthday
Upload a clear photo of your cat, keep the song "Happy Birthday" that's already picked in the voice step (or pick "It's Your Birthday"), and press Make my video. The AI moves your cat's own mouth with the song, and you get an MP4 to send. Choose the whole song for about 30 seconds instead of the chorus. One video is $4.99.
Make a Gotcha Day video of your pet
Upload a photo of your pet, then pick the song "Happy Gotcha Day" in the voice step, or choose Type it and tap the 🏡 Gotcha Day idea to have your pet thank you for adopting them. The AI moves your pet's mouth with the words, and you get an MP4 to post or send on the day. One video is $4.99.
Make your dog or cat say Happy New Year
Upload a photo of your pet, then pick the song "Happy New Year" in the voice step, or type your pet's New Year's resolutions and choose a pet voice. Make a Valentine's Day video from your pet
Upload a photo of your pet, then pick the song "Be My Valentine" in the voice step, or type a Valentine message and choose the Sweet and soft voice. The AI makes your pet sing or say it, mouth moving with the words, and you get an MP4 to send as a video card. One video is $4.99.
A ChatterPix alternative where the pet's real mouth moves
ChatterPix (free, iPhone and iPad, by Duck Duck Moose) has you draw a line where the mouth should be, and that line flaps open and shut while your recording plays; the rest of the photo stays still. Talking Pet App instead uses an AI video model that moves your pet's own mouth, jaw and head with the voice, in any browser, for $4.99 a video. For a quick free laugh, ChatterPix is fine; for a video that looks like your pet is really talking or singing, use an AI one.
A My Talking Pet alternative without a subscription
Yes. Talking Pet App works in the browser instead of an app and charges $4.99 once per video instead of a Pro subscription. An AI video model moves your pet's own mouth and head with the voice. My Talking Pet still has things we don't: hats and glasses, hundreds of ready-made clips and an iMessage app.
